Forest Sailing Club was established in the 1970s following the completion of Da Gama Dam. A group of local farmers, united by their passion for sailing, came together to form the club. Since then, sailing has remained at the heart of everything we do.
Sailing at Forest Sailing Club
We sail a wide variety of craft, ranging from small Optimist dinghies (“Oppies”), sailed by children as young as five years old, to 22-foot keel yachts.
Members can enjoy sailing in different ways:
- Social sailing
- Racing
- Learning to sail
Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced sailor, you can choose the type of sailing that suits you best.

Our regular Sailing Sundays take place on the first, third, and fifth Sunday of each month, and we’d be delighted to take you out on the water.
